The American Crate Late Model Series was established in 2020, kicking off with a 14-race schedule and an average field of 15 cars per event. Chase Allen was crowned the inaugural champion.
In 2021, the series expanded to 18 events across Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, showing growth with an average of 19 cars per race. Dean Abbey claimed the championship title that season.
Building on that momentum, the 2022 season, under the ownership of Dustin Daniel, featured 22 scheduled events across the same three states, maintaining a strong 19-car average. Dean Abbey made history by becoming the series’ first two-time champion.
The 2023 season marked another milestone, with an expanded 25-race schedule. The car count remained consistent at 19 per event, but this time, Jeffrey Abbey, Dean’s younger brother, secured the championship.
The 2024 season began with a few rainouts and a change in ownership, as Donnie Shipp took the reins of the series. The schedule was adjusted to 18 races, with Cory Davis leading the points late into the season. However, Dennie Gieber took over the top spot heading into the final night, only for Beau Begnaud to emerge as the 2024 champion, with an impressive season average of 20 cars per event.
With continued growth and increasing competition, the American Crate Late Model Series remains a premier racing series in the region, promising more exciting seasons ahead.
